Recoil diff btw 6.5x55 and .308?

A 6.5x55 will offer you a great come-back for the long range sessions when you try to alternate ....

A steady diet of hot 308s can be more than the ocasional shooter will want. So between 308s, you can shoot the 6.5. Helps a lot if you have a flinch with the 308.

Federals High Energy ina light rifle can be detrimental to one's willing to continue after 30 rounds. This of course if you don;t happen to enjoy being punded like that.

A rifle over ten lbs. in 308 is a great recoil reducer!:D
Thgis is my 16 year old songettin 'er dun with hot 308 loads and Alberta Wildcat 150's. the rifle is a 30" barreled Sportco Palma rifle

Yeah, I'm looking for something 8lbs or more, up to 10-11lbs is ok. Reasonable weight doesn't bother me that much. I actually enjoy taking my Garand when I go hiking, even if I don't get to shoot on every outing.

Find yourself a Swedish Mauser 6.5 x 55 (that hasn't beet cut down)...you won't be sorry. I think my other rifles are jealous that my Blonde Swede is getting so much attention these days. :D
