Recoil "ELIMINATING" stock, 12ga

The Knoxx RRS Stock is amazing. They claimed something like 85% recoil reduction, to which I though Bullsiht... but it’s amazing. 308 feels like a 22.

But if it were me, I’d start by loading the gun up with as much weight as possible. Remove the wooden dowel tube mag plug and replace it with lead or steel. Pull the stock apart and fill every nook and cranny with fine lead shot and melted wax. There’s probably room for weight in the pistol grip too.

Then get him a tripod and bob’s your uncle.
 
Remington versamax to start, ridiculously light recoil. Add some weight by replacing the mag plug with a steel one. Add a equal amount, or more if you prefer for balance, to the butt stock. Weight seems to be the easily and cheapest way to lessen recoil in my experience.

If you couple the above modifications with sensible and light loads or handloads there’s not many people that’d have trouble with the recoil. Obviously your friend may still have issue due to his injury but it’d be is best chance at wingshooting. My versa max reliably cycles handloads as light as 3/4oz without issue.
 
There was a gentleman that I used to see shooting trap at the Grand American when it was in Ohio. He was known as Bat Masterson and was a Vietnam Veteran and shot from a wheelchair. He was very interesting to watch shoot, and I believe the gun was mounted against his chest and he would pivot it with his arms. The barrel was about six feet long and when fired, it made a "poink" noise instead of the usual shotgun "pop" noise. I assume that he had experimented with various barrel lengths and been able to come up with something that worked for him.
 

Skip to 5:15 to see him shoot it with one hand. The technology is out there...Maybe they put the same tech into something a little less military like, and a little less automatic. ;);););)
 
I made a recoil reducer for a Mossberg 535 I used to have from a old compound bow stabilizer. I cut the end off and emptied out fluid, springs and weight. I cut the tube down to right length and cut equal amounts off each spring so everything fit back in tube and filled it back up with the fluid. I put a cap back on the end and soldered together. I put it in butstock and packed foam around it so it was tight.
Doing this took more recoil out of her than the 3lbs or so of lead shot in stock I tried before making reducer.
This isn't going to eliminate all recoil, so I'm sure this alone won't be enough for him to handle it, it maybe along with some other mods and rest may help
