Recoil from 325WSM?

Since this is a fairly new caliber, how does the recoil form the 325WSM compare to a 300 WM

Go to any of the recoil calculaters you'll find on-line and it will tell you the actual recoil....depends on rifle weight, bullet weight, velocity....etc....pretty simple calculation. Felt recoil is another animal and depends on stock design, fit and of course the actual recoil of the cartridge! All things being equal, however, you could count on recoil similar to a .338.....so more than a .300WM.

Sounds reasonable to me.

Identical Remington 700's, one in 30-06 shooting 180's another in 35 Whelen shooting 200's ... more felt recoil from the Whelen (and more still when you switch to 225's or 250's) With the WSM's, same cartridge, heavier bullet, only some 60 fps slower. Yup, should "kick" much like a 338, as it performs very much the same.

Agree too, re: the difference in felt recoil - depends on the particular rifle, weight and stock design. A buddy's rifle in 338 Win Mag shooting 225's seemed to have less felt recoil than a 264 Win Mag with 140's I was shooting at the time.
