Recoil of .40S&W vs .45ACP

I own a Kimber Gold Match II in 40 s&w and a Kimber Grand Raptor II in 45 acp, both 1911 frames and both the same weight and feel. Personally, I enjoy shooting both and I don't find an appreciatable difference between the two calibers. The Raptor goes to the range with me every time....just to sweet to leave in the safe.

Yeah, the .40 S&W is the workhorse of law enforcement. Kinda like the Clydesdale of the pistol ctg world... not romantic like the .45ACP or evil like the 9mm Luger.... :p

Well said! I personal think 9mm is only good because of cheaper to shoot, that is. .45 is man's cal.

.40 unpleasent for me compared to .45.
Higher ammunition capacity? Remember what that little button on the side of the frame is used for? In any case, if you hit what you are aiming at, mag capacity is irellevant. I amm not talking about shooting games but rather two legged game.;)

I have both rounds in 2 poly guns that are of equal size and weight. I honestly cannot tell the difference between the 2 rounds. The recoil feels identical to me.

I've always prefered the 45 over the 40... the 40 as someone mentioned snaps.. the 45 just pushes really hard... Difference in the pressures and the weight of the projectiles
