I have a small scar on my forehead from my Alaskan. Offhand, snap shooting first shot and a quick-as-you can follow up shot. My attention faltered slightly on the second shot.....
I don't have years and years of shooting heavier recoiling rifles like that one, so it does take some getting used to. It is not heavy recoil to some, to others it is too much. For me it is significant, but not scary or painful. I will shoot up to 20 rounds in a range session with it before my shoulder get sore and I put it away. Doesn't make me flinch though, which is the important part.
