I have a Decelerator on mine (22" bbl.) I also bought a pre-fit and it, too, is " close", but not a perfect fit. I have heard that the Sims (Limbsaver) are more effective, although more awkward to grind if you need to do so.

StuartHow hard are the sims to grind? What would you use, a die grinder? Don't want it to look like a POS!! I see in the SIR catalogue, they have a Sims that fits a Marlin 450, 336. Will that work for my 1895? Thanks!

Best done with a 1" vertical belt sander. A pad jig like Brownell's or
A-Squares makes the job a lot easier. Simms pads are a softer rubber
compound than Pachmayr's or Kick Eez ... slow the belt speed down
a little, and tell yourself there's no rush. Die grinders, Foredom's,
Dremels and drill mounted discs won't give you the control you need
for a good job.
