Recoil Pad for old 870 Wingmaster

I recently purchased an old 870 Wingmaster with walnut stock. It has the curved hard plastic butt plate. I purchased a Limbsaver Wingmaster wood stock recoil pad for it - it doesn't fit. Does anyone know what pads fit on the older 870 wood stocks? If not, what's the easiest grind to fit type pad? Thanks.

There is no "easiest" grind-to-fit pad, they are pretty much all equivalent in the effort required. You need to tape the stock and have a VERY steady hand on a belt or disc sander, or you need to invest in a pad jig and do the grinding off the stock. Only precise, careful work gets good results.

The easiest thing to do is tape and skim the stock flat.
