REcoil pad on tikka t3

I have a tikka T3 in 30-06 caliber... SO i'm thinking about reloading to get a bit more juice out of it... Does anyone have changed the recoil pad for another one that reduce the shock to the shoulder.... If yes could you include the brand and size of it... Cause this rifle is kicking hard

Sims Limbsaver pad works great on the Tikkas, product # 10011. Their site says its for the synthetics, but they fit right on the wood stocks as well.

you wont be able to improve on factory ballistics much. maybe 100 fps if you are super careful. That equals jack squat. But, handloading is better anyways so good luck. PS the limbsaver or pachmayr both work well, I prefer the look of the pachmayr

I put a pachmayr on a T3 hunter in 300WM,tamed it down considerably and made shooting at the bench quite enjoyable.RB

I have a LIMBSAVER on mine and it's great on the bench in the summer with only a t-shirt (270wsm)

The Limbsaver bolts on in 5 minutes and makes a HUGE difference for recoil, at least for the 30-06. With the stock recoil pad I'm good for about 20 rounds before the shoulder gets too tender (large bruises too). With the Limbsaver I can shoot as much as I like. ~$39 @ Wholesale sports.

I put a Pachmar grind-to-fit on mine, more to correct the LOP than anything else. Mine's a wooden stock .300 and the recoil isn't much. The tupperware .300s can get a bit pushy.

so basically being chubby = being a GunNut further along the evolutionary ladder: you are slowly morphing into a 6-foot universal recoil pad
