Recoil Pad Savage 10TR

This is probably a stupid question but how do you remove the recoil pad from my Savage 10TR?

Most cases, it's screwed in with 2 Phillips head screws in the usual location.
You lube up your shaft and insert it into the rubber butt holes which you might have to feel around a bit for, and it's a tight fit.
Expect your gun to scream a little bit, and not talk to you for a week.
