I am thinking about buying an aftermarket recoil pad for my 870. After shooting slugs through my new rifled barrel I am thinking I might want one. What is the best one to go with? I am thinking Limbsaver or a Remington R3. Is there any difference? I know the R3 is about $10 less. Or is there a better option that I am overlooking?

Copy that. Got a Limbsaver on my 30-06. Best yet. I would go with the Limbsaver itself.
Might be a cheaped down version for Rem. Often happens that way and sometimes they spec a cheap pad and think the name will sell it anyways. I would go with the real Limbsaver. Not had much luck with factory pads no matter who made them. My $0.02

My Wingmaster came with the R3 pad. My only complaint is that it is a bit "gummy" and can get hung up bringing the gun up to shoulder.
I have a Pachymeyer Decelerator D550 coming in the mail soon. I'm going to try that on my old O/U shotgun and see how that compares.

, the R3 was a good purchase.I was in a hunting store the other day that had the R3 and a Limbsaver. I was comparing the two. I think the Limbsaver feels like it has more squish. Could be my imagination. I think I will pick up a Limbsaver (maybe R3...they are almost the same) for my shotgun before deer season.
