Hi guys.
First time thread. Long, long time lurker!
I have to say that I have gained a wealth of firearm knowledge from my time spent on CGN. I thank you all.

Now that I have sucked up to the masses:p , I require some help in the selection of a new recoil pad. I shoot a Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker in a 300WM. It has a composite stock, and the original "no give" Browning recoil pad and spacer.

Any suggestions for recoil pad types and manufacturers would be greatly appreciated. I love hitting the range occasionally, and my ol' shoulder is just taking too much of a beating:(
I would like to do the change over myself, so any help in that regard would be appreciated also.
Thanks a lot guys!
I live in the Lower Mainland of BC, and my name is Jon

I was looking for a limbsaver when I got a kick-eze for my 375. It works very well 'though I hear they're not so durable. Find a belt sander and follow the instructions to fit.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.:)

Another manufacturer suggested to me from a local shop was HiViz pads.
I wasn't able to find a whole lot of feed back on these as to supression, and durability.

At this point it appears Limbsaver is the popular choice.

Now, I just have to figure out how to get the original Browning one off!!
Thanks again
Jon

Usually just a pair of Philips head screws.

I've been looking for a recoil pad for my Savage 111 7mm RM. I've got a slip on right now, But I need a permanent one. Any preference? I was going to try and get a Limbsaver, but I don't want to have to grind or anything.

Jon, I would flip a coin and go between the Limbsaver R3 and the Pachmayr Decelerator. In my opinion the Decelerator gets the edge due to a cleaner look.

I ended up getting a pre-fit Limbsaver recoil pad.
After locating the well concealed screws on the original, change over was easy, and the fit was good.
I can't wait to try it out!!
Thanks again guys for all your help and suggestions.

Pre-fit recoil pad for Savage 111fcxp3?

I'm wondering which limbsaver pre-fit recoil pad is right for a Savage 111fcxp3package gun with the detachable magazine and no accutrigger? There are 3 possible models listed by limbsaver; the #10011, #10111 and the #10030. Just wondering if anyone's had any experience out there with prefit pads, or if one even exists for this gun without having to grind...

If it's the same as the Stevens 200, it'll be 10111. It's not an exact fit, but it's close enough....for me anyways.
