Just got a new semi auto (field). The rubber recoil pad is very grabby ( for lack of a better word) I shoot skeet and sporting clays down gun. My problem is that the pad catches on my clothing and shooting vest. The pad is shaped at the top for down gun shooting but the rubber is very soft.Is there any treatment, short of changing pads to make this more slippery? The lop is right for me and I shoot it well but the pad problem is distracting

Is it a Kick-eez pad by any chance? They are notoriously grabby. Brownell's sells a product to make them less sticky.

When I used a Kick-eez pad I wiped it with an Armour-All cloth before shooting and that seems to slick it up a bit.
Also with time they become less sticky.

Actually Pachmayer makes a pad to exactly eliminate this problem, see the link below. It has a hard plastic insert to help the pad slide over your clothing. Pad no SC100.
