recoil pads all cracked up to be????

Do limbsavers work? YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

do you have a flinch? yep.

Recoil pad, muzzle brake, more rifle weight, lighter loads, smaller cartridges, suffer through it. Whatever floats your boat.

however, with todays bullets, why put up with excessive recoil? The animal will die only if you can put the bullet where it does some good. And if you can put that bullet where it will do some good, you don't need a cannon.

Otherwise, a big noise/pain and a huge waste of time-tracking wounded game.

My 30-06 kicked like a mule the first time I shot it, I bought a limbsaver but I haven't got it yet. I went shooting on Saturday and the recoil was mild. When I get the limbsaver installed, I can let you know. I am sure it will help

for all you recoil wuss's fire this once and your lil magnums will seem like a 22lr

wow. a few hundred rounds of .300mag? you have deeper pockets then I!

seems like a huge waste of money when you already have a rifle in a perfectly suitable hunting caliber.

Time to start reloading my friend....;)
plus it's a great way to pass the time wehn ya can't get out and shoot

The limbsaver is the best. I can shoot my guide gun with stiffish loads in a t shirt no problem with one on.

The decelerator works too, but it's not quite as squishy.

dump junky, you can do both of these which will help.

a) get a recoil pad installed on the 300 mag

b) instead of spending hundreds of dollars for hundreds of rounds of 300 mag to practice with, buy a reloading setup and load 300 mag ammo to a lower velocity, to reduce recoil. once you get over your flinch, you can up the speed a bit at a time until you find your comfort level

but, judging by your posts, you're probably better off to stay clear from anything explosive :)
