Hello Guys,
well I am back here in NB and I stopped at the Gun Dealer in McAdam on Friday. I was asking him about Ruger #1s when the next thing I know I have ordered a #1H stainless in 375 H&H.
I want to install a better recoil pad than what comes on it and I was wondering what I should get to aborb the most recoil without going to some sort of mechanical device. I saw the Pachmyer Magnum pads in a catalogue, but I also saw the Limbsaver ones also. Which one of these aborbs the most recoil? i am going to have it fitted by Jason Spencer out in Ottawa, so pre-fit means little to me.
I am also trying to figure out what to put on it for a scope. I am thinking around the 2-7 power range with a min 32MM objective. Does anybody know of any scopes like this with a large eye relief (min 3.7") and for around $500 or less?
My last point is that to mount this scope I am going to need rings, which it comes with but they are high. I was reading an article that said to mount the scope on a #1 as low as possible on the tropicals to help with the cheek weld which will help with recoil managment. I have a set of blued medium height ones, color doe not bother me, but i was wondering if a set of low would work also. What do you guys think I should use?
Thanks,
Corey
