Anyone have any experiance with aftermarket Guide rods/recoil assemblies for Glocks?

Looking to help with recoil on my daughters G17 Gen5 she's been shooting long time but new to higher caliber hand guns. Been reading a lot that after market ones help considerably with recoil

Watching the Glock Store vid on YouTube. That being said, any issues ordering a recoil assembly form them and having it shipped here?

Cheers

Canada's Gun Store, linked at the top of page, currently have a couple in stock. get them now while as can as I haven't seen any others in stock elsewhere for a little while now.

bamboo, are you talking about just a heavier guide rod? Or spring tuning?

Adding mass anywhere on the pistol will help dampen recoil, and the closer it is to the muzzle the more it will counter muzzle flip.

Springs can be a can of worms...

Yes an no. I just watched a YouTube vid from the Glockstore in the US. He has a bunch of drop in assemblies . So easy install and easy to undo. Id post the link but Im sure it's not allowed. Easy enough to search and find.

Im not looking to modify the the assembly just replace with a heaver unit.

Aha, well, the guide rod is an obvious place to add weight. But you can also go to a mag well and heavy magazine base plates. Adding a light will also increase weight and reduce muzzle flip, and easy to experiment with.

I've never ordered from GlockStore. If they say they'll ship to your address, you should be good. The general issue is exporting firearms parts out of the US, not importing into Canada.

That said, there are a few Canadian suppliers I'd check with, like Freedom Ventures and Practical Performance Products.

Not trying to hijack this thread, but I've been looking for a replacement recoil spring assembly for my G19 Gen 4, and haven't found a store that has it in stock.

If anyone knows where I can buy one, please let me know. Thanks.
