Recoil

My wife uses an add-on Lee-Enfield No.4 muzzle brake. It simply pulls over the muzzle and straps on the bayonet lug. You hand tighten the screw and you're good to go. She uses them on her No.4(T)'s and finds a recoil reduction of at least 50%. She's able to shoot for hours without tiring and makes a day out more enjoyable, although I suppose technically it's cheating as compared to shooting them the way they were issued. :D

Very cool, as there is absolutely no modification to the rifle. Note to Smellie...you'll have flea bay competition from Plinker on this little gem.;)

M95! My scant stock '03 Springfield also rattles my teeth when shooting it with 180 grain bullets. My PTRD isn't even that bad, though I suspect the reloads I've shot through it were on the light side.

The scant stock isn't bad when compared to the original straight grip stock which has a very short length of pull. When shooting it from the prone position it's best to rest your thumb along the grip, instead of across it, otherwise you will get bopped in the snout by your thumb knuckle. For a mild and accurate load in the M1903 or other .30-06 bolt gun try any 150gr bullet with a reduced load of 23gr SR4759.

In my 91/30 Mosin Nagant I use 180gr. Bullet Barn lead boolits on top of a load of 14.0gr. SR4759
held in place with a pinch of kapok filler. At 1300fps. this is an accurate load that feels like
shooting a big .22 and is cheap shooting fun.
