Sims Limbsaver V. Pachmayr

Now I already have a Sims on my .300WM, So I know how well it works. I just don't know how long it will take W.S.S. to get one in, they do have the Pachmayr in store. This will be for my 12g. slug gun too.
After shooting 15+ 1 0z. 2 3/4" reloads and finishing off with a
Federal 1 1/4 0z. 3" Power Shok to verify, I was DONE!
Talk about one sore shoulder.
Anyone have experience with the Pachmayr?
 
Both the Simms & the Pachmayr Decelerators are good pads.

The Simms are a little softer and seem to soak up just a little bit more recoil, but are somewhat harder to grind to fit, as the rubber tends to smear a little.
 
Buck up you big recoil pussy.....:p all joking put aside, you know I'm one as well...:redface: personally, I'ld go with the decelerator.....you are capable of fitting it if neccessary......
 
I put Pachmayr on everything I can. If they don't come custom fit, I grind them. It's easy enough. Or, if it's an expensive stock have your local gunsmith grind it for you.

I've never tried the limbsaver so I can't compare but +++ rating for Pachmayr IMHO.
 
I've used them both and Limbsaver wins hands down when it comes to recoil reduction.The only drawback is how sticky they are and so I only use them on my trap guns as they tend to hang up a bit when mounting.For any gun that I may shoot from the gun down position,I really like the Kick-Eeze pads.

I have ground a couple Kick-eze pads and they are nice to work with and are pretty soft. They are made of sorbothane...nice pads

I cancelled my order with S.I.R. today, simply because I found way cheaper distributor right here in Alberta, I was foolishly going to pay $50.99 + $15.00 in shipping & GST which = $65:eek:
At G&H Outdoors I only paid $35 for the recoil pad and well under $10 bucks for shipping..Sweet:D

a good way to work with rubber, is to put it in the freezer for awhile to harden it up.

I had a fellow in Oregon that I bought my Limbsaver pads from.The cost was $36.00 Canadian shipped to my door in Nanaimo.I'm trying to get back in touch with him to see if he has anymore.Our local shop wants $50.00 each plus GST/PST.

The HiViz X-Coil pads are excellent imo and not as squishy/grabby as the limbsaver.
