Looking for recommendations on a good lightweight stock for my Remington 700 Mountain LSS .280 rifle.
It came with a nice laminated wood stock buy I'd like to put something lighter and more durable on it for hunting purposes.

I don't own one, but from everything I've read and heard, double gun has given you the best option. I may purchase one in the future

Wildcat.

IMO better quality than a McEdge while still being lighter and cheaper. My short action 700 blank was 17.2 oz. With bedding, paint and pad it finished at 19.8 oz.

Quality and made in Alberta.

Wildcat is a good option. I just finished one on a light weight 6.5X47. My blank was also 17.2 oz. Blank was kind of rough in my opinion, and required more work than I thought it would. But it was a fun winter project and I would use Wildcat again.

I'd have to say Wildcat then H.S. Precision for light/stiff.

Wildcat being Cdn. no reason not to go that route.

I have a wildcat and will buy from them again in the future but you need to do the finishing bedding painting etc

Wildcat for sure. Awesome to deal with and answer any questions I had.

Just sending my stock out for paint. I'll post up some pics and the build storey when it's all done.
