Hey all, I've just--as of today--been approved for my PAL (43 days wait). I'm looking to buy, among other things, a .45 acp tactical carbine non-restricted version only as I don't have my RPAL.

My first choice when I started searching was the Kriss Vector, but now I'm having a change of heart because I am reading about the recommended ammo limitations and the many people who are having quite a few FTF's and unexpected magazine ejections as well. A lot of people have had to send their gun back to Kriss for correction and this is not something I'm wanting in a rifle that is costing in the 2000 dollar range.

Any opinions/experience with other brands like JR or Thureon? Are either of these legal for 10 round capacity? Any other recommends would be welcome too.

Thanks!

I picked up a JR in 9mm today from a site sponsor, couldn't resist the price for a used one. Took it out with a TRS25 and put 100 rounds through it, loved the gun. Functioned great in the cold and was hitting the steel at 100 and 150 yds all afternoon. The 45 uses standard 1911 or Glock mags. The downside is requiring tools to field strip.

My friend bought the JR carbine recently in 45 and it has problems and is being sent back.

I would say from reviews alone you are better off with the thureon defence, is is way easier to strip and is a super simple design. When I have the cash I am going to pick one up in 10mm.

If you are willing to go with a restricted then I would say HK all the way
