Recommend a budget holster for my glock 17 - ipsc use

FYI - that's not IPSC legal, the grip of the gun will sit too low.
Maybe you use it for something else, but since the thread is discussing "IPSC use"; I thought you should be aware.
Wouldn't want a surprise and get bounced to Open.

The grip sits above the top of the belt and in close enough to my body that it is legal. I asked one of our local black badge instructors to look at it just to make sure. I do use it for IPSC, but so far only local practice nights.

Used a Blade-Tech Revolution Combo Pack + 1 extra double mag pouch for my BB. Whole setup was under $100. Zero complaints.

To my eye, that homespun rig looked IPSC illegal too. Of course it depends on the gun but that looks seriously low. The adjustment on my CR Speed is almost to the end and my five inch gun is still over the top edge of my belts.

While I know we are talking IPSC here, 3Gun has become an extension for many. Because I wanted to be sure my gun was well retained, I purchased a BladeTech which when adjusted makes me feel more secure than the CR Speed in 3 Gun where movement tends to be more energetic. If your gun hits the dirt, you hit the road :-(

It is pretty close and if I swivel the holster so the muzzle is a bit forward, the butt goes below the top of the belt, but the way I have it set up, it is just above the top of the belt. I am using a full size 1911 with a mag well. I was more worried about having it too far from my body, because how that is measured isn't spelled out very clearly, but when my instructor showed me how, I'm golden. Thanks for the concern though. I was posting just to give an idea of what can be done if someone is handy and doesn't want to spend a ton of money on a fancy setup.
