Recommend A Bullet, Please

Max, for the money, the 155gr Amax will do all you want. Sit it over Varget, CCI BR2 or FED210M primers in Win or lapua cases (fireformed and properly sized). Have fun.

The AMax is not particularly picky of location to the lands and will work at mag OAL's You can of course choose a heavier bullet but I am a recoil wuss and the 155's do all I want.

The amax had no issues going 1450yds when I was shooting the 308's (ran out of real estate in that location). Launch speed was 2850fps - nothing special or speedy. Good ole SAAMI spec stuff.

Is it the most accurate slug? Not always but it will give you a very good start and they are very well priced vs the BC/accuracy/ ease of loading.

If you can get consistent groups of 1" or under at 200yds, you are good as far as that rifle/scope will let you go. Most factory rifles will not shoot teeny tiny groups. Consistent 1/2 MOA is great accuracy - that is the average including the worse groups, not just the few hero groups you might get.

Get loading and shooting. Things become abundantly clear when you start busting primers.

I have a Rem 700 5r milspec it as a faster rate of twist than your average
700 and loves Sierra 175gr hpbt matchking. I use 43 grains of Hodgens varget powder.

I've only ever used 168 AMax and Varget in my LE2B. I don't know that the twist is 10" though. I should check that some time. Might be fun to try 210 Bergers, for something to do.

I myself have never had great luck runing light bullets in a fast twist barrel! They work but never shot as tight as I could be happy with.

1:10 I use 178 amax or 175 SMks, for longer barrels i use Varget, for short barrels I use BLC2

Cheers
