"...do you feel that..." It's got more to do with how well a particular pitsol fits your hand. The chances of one pistol fitting both of you aren't high. However, for an inexpensive .22 that likely will fit you both, look into a Ruger.

I had NO idea 9mm's have more muzzle jump! I figured the lower the calibre the easier to manage. We used to shoot .22's but I think they're too low powered now and we wan't something a little more exciting.
What about the Ruger New Model??
Yes, I believe thats what it is called. Trying to find where I can get one and how it shoots, again I want something more substantial then a .22 but not the pure power, muzzle climb of the .40

9mm is very snappy while the 40 kick is more solid.
I personal perfer a double action revolver because of more grip control. All Ruger revolver is great.

S&W 9mm M&P - adjustable grips mean that it will fit either yours or your girlfriend's hands. I like the 9mm, since the recoil isn't too much (I like shooting .22 as well) and it is just a really nice pistol to shoot.
