I was out yesterday with the OAS and now recognise that, if I don't start practising, I'll suck forever. Therefore I need to find a range that will let me use my AR and other restricted firearms and can provide a minmum 100yd/m. I've talked to a couple of clubs who require a 1 year probation prior to allowing restricted which won't help me much.
Located in central Caledon, which makes just about anywhere in the triangle equidistant, travel isn't the major issue.
Any recommendations?

Best solution to your problem - Move to Alberta or Saskatchewan!

Besides, everyone else seems to be moving, why not you too!

Well in that case..........your loss!! LOL!

I would say that Guelph is your best bet (no Sunday shooting mind you).

Galt does not allow Restricted (ie AR15) on their rifle range.

Just give up now and drop into EESA for a visit.........come one....try it. LOL
(damn I sound like a drug pusher)

No seriously...if you ever want to stretch out to 300 m you can be my guest for a day.

Everyone,
Thanks for the info. I will be contacting some of these clubs.

Scully,
Some clubs are more creative than others. 1 (un-named) director at an un-named club talked to me along these lines.
"You can't fire a restricted firearm at this range until you have passed a 1 year probation."
"Can I use guns that aren't restricted?"
"Yes, of course."
"Then I can use my Mk.1 Webley revolver which is an antique."
"Ummm. Well, our only rule relates to restricted. I guess it would be OK."

While interesting interpretation, it asn't enough for me to commit.

If you are interested in 100 m and up (mostly longer ranges) service conditions matches, you should consider joining the Ontario Rifle Association. You can shoot at CFB Borden, Winona Connaught etc. You can use your AR when you get your club ATT. EESA near Aylmer also has service rifle matches.
