Recommend a Scope to me for a 30-30

If you're looking for something in the 1-8×24 range, I have the Falcon on my Ruger GSR 223. Illuminated reticle with a red dot in the center. SFP so it would be good for hunting. Frontier Firearms carries it.

Japanese made Bushnell Banner 1.5-4

I have exactly the same scope; mine is still NIB. I had another but it was sold as a package deal with a rifle.

Absolutely my favourite scope for a .30-30 lever, though, is the Weaver K3, steel-tube, fixed-power scope with the post and crosshair reticle. Great sight picture for deer-sized game to 200-yards plus, no big objective bell so it easily mounts low, and that reticle is awesome in low light.
They show up on the EE frequently and are truly affordable.

If I wanted to scope a .30-30 it would be the lightweight Leupold fixed 2.5 and nothing else.

But I would go for a Williams peep instead. Give it fair consideration.

A compact red dot mounted low has its appeal but I'd prefer a fixed 2.5 but a 1.5-4, 1.5-5 or 2-7 wouldn't hurt my feelings neither would a fixed 4 or 2.5-8 but no objectives larger than 36mm and no tubes larger than 1". The entire appeal of a lever to me is fast handling and larger objective or higher mounted scope defeats this to me.

Hunting to 100 yards just screams red dot. I don’t even think I would consider a scope for this application. The red dot will be faster, easier to hit with from field positions and will be less intrusive on your rifle. It’s 2020 and there are better options than traditional scopes for this type of situation.
