Recommend me a cleaning kit

I got a Hoppe's Deluxe Gun Cleaning Kit from Canadian Tire for about 45 bucks. It has different sized plastic-protected rods, lube, solvent, patches (not great patches) and a lot of brushes and adapters. It comes in a little wooden case. It's pretty nifty if you have a buttload of different rifles and pistols in various calibers.
 
You could always build your own....I find the fancy dancy pre made ones can get pretty pricey. All you really need is a cleaning rod set or bore snake. Bore brush, chamber brush, brass jag (swab holder), Key brush, some clp for the lubricating part, some hoppes # 9 for the cleaning part, some swabs and a bunch of rags. That's a good start.

Another vote for Otis. I use this kit for all my semi-auto rifles. It allows you to clean from the chamber towards the muzzle, to limit the risks of damaging the crown...

The otis kits are hard to beat. If you can find one on the EE or on sale the price is very reasonable for what you get. If you want something cheap and expedient, boresnake with a small bottle of your clp of choice with some q tips.
 
I got the Otis deluxe kit about 5 years ago. It can clean everything from .223 to 50BMG. It also has brushes and adapters for shotguns. It is in a round pouch about the size of 2 hockey pucks stacked on each other. Throw it in your range bag, or attach it to your belt or sling, and you are good to go. It was the best $75 I have spent on a firearm cleaning system.

Find just about everything Firearms related on CGN, I was wondering about different kits myself after I finished cleaning a few firearms tonight. I stumbled upon a top ten cleaning kit video which had the otis elite as their number 1 pick. Combine that with all the otis support on this thread and looks like I will be keeping my eye out for one on sale. That and a can of Ballistol, GTG.
 
I use a Tipton carbon fibre one piece cleaning rod. For patches and brushes I use whatever I can find, bronze brushes always, brass accessories or plastic. Hoppe's or Gunslick solvents and oils work well. For hunting I carry a bore snake and 3 piece rod if I need to do some emergency cleaning.
