Looking for a trigger upgrade for my AR10 pattern rifle. Primary use for the gun is plinking steel and paper, not hunting or running and gunning with it. I have no previous experience with a nice trigger in a semi auto. Used to stock mil spec triggers. My bolt guns either have trigger techs or accutriggers. There are a lot of options out there so I'm wondering what you guys are using. I think I want a straight blade as I have never tried on but think I would like it. Don't have a budget in mind as I see most of them are in the same sort of price range. Thanks for any help

Go with a single stage if your used to bolt guns and not running around operator-style.
Timney, Hiperfire, Geissele, POF, Rise Armament, Triggertech all have SS flat bow triggers.
Triggertech is Canadian too I believe, if you're used to them on your bolt guns, I would probably go that route. I think they have flat bow options on all their AR triggers.

They are much safer then SS for run and gun style shooting. They typically have a couple lbs of resistance per stage making it less likely you would accidently bumpfire it. I don't do that type of shooting so I prefer a single stage for punching steel and paper. 2S will still break crisp, but there is take up on a 2 stage. AR SS triggers are usually stiffer than a SS on a bolt gun. 2.5-3lb is a typical minimums for AR set up vs. ounces on precision rifles. Up to you, might want to look towards 2S if you are thinking maybe one day you want to do the tacticool stuff?
I have both the timney Calvin elite and trigger tech diamond. The diamond is the nicest, crispest, lightest trigger you can put in an ar platform rifle. It makes the timney feel like a mushy potato. It is a 2 stage trigger but I barely feel the first stage. There is a distinct wall then a sudden break. I will not run anything else. You can turn it up to 3.5 pounds too if you wish to hunt with it. It says 1.5 pounds is the lightest but it feels more like 12oz
I run all Triggertech Specials in my bolt guns but I like a 2-stage on my ARs/semis. I have a Brownell's exclusive Geiselle 2-stage in my Stag-10 and it's really nice and quite a bit less than other Geiselles like the SSA-E (which is also really nice)
Geissele doesn’t recommend their Single Stage for AR10, because the lower receiver is slightly different from a standard AR15, instead they advised me to go with their SSA, SSD, or SDE, all of these are two stage triggers, got the SDE for my Stag10, and works perfectly, same with my AR15
Base on Geissele advice, it’s possible to have some compatibility issue in some trigger design that are design for the AR15, the lower receiver don’t have the same dimension ( trigger) housing, and the BCG don’t have the same height as the AR15, in fact they don’t recommend their Single Action Trigger, better to email them for clarification to the manufacturer you decided
I have a Triggertech Diamond on my Stag10.
How light do you have it set?
I dont have a pull weight tester thing. But its pretty close to the lowest setting. About three clicks in.
