Recommend scope pls

So OK -- Asking for a friend. He just bought a .416 rem mag to hunt Cape buffalo in Africa and is in need of optics for it. Since it is basically a 200 to 250 yard unit, he feels he doesn't need high magnification but needs something to stand up to the recoil. Recommendations are appreciated.

If I was heading to Africa to hunt Cape Buffalo with a .416 Rem Mag I would put my Nikon Monarch African 1-4 Dangerous Game Scope on it.
True one power on the bottom end, very bright glass, great eye relief and a German #4 reticle. I have mine on a 45-70 and it takes the recoil just fine.

I'd like good eye relief. Something like a Leupold VX3 1-5 would be a good choice .
