This is a very fair question. OP, what are you trying to accomplish with the bore sighter? Typically one would simply take the gun to the range, put up a big sheet of paper and then start shooting fairly close to see where POI is. This isn't like sighting in a rifle with optics involved, especially one that you can't remove the bolt and sight through the barrel to get on paper.

I've used the old Millett with great results, but I'm not sure if it does what you want. Aside from the Millett, I use a Sweany for boresighting.
