Recommendation for air gun

I am looking at getting an airgun (handgun) to practice with in the back country. I currently have a couple .22 single action revolvers, and have a couple other handguns on order (GSG 1911 .22 and Glock 17)

I don't think i need anything too fancy and would like something that has a similar feel to the real guns.

Also would like to to be reliable without a lot of need for high maintenance.

Any recommendations? Thanks
 
If you can find them, the Sig Sauer X-Five .177 CO2 air pistol is pretty good - weight and functionality (as much as possible) is fairly close to the real thing.
 
My two favorite air pistols and the ones I have had the longest are the HW45 in .22cal and an HW40 in .177 they are both single shot and are very good quality. The 45 is spring powered and the 40 is a single stroke pneumatic. They are essentially maintenance free with no Co2 required. I messed around for years with other “more realistic” airpistols other than function they aren’t very “realistic” if you get what I mean. I get the most satisfaction out of those two. If the prices are a little high for you the Beeman P17 is much cheaper and is more or less the same as the HW40 but made in China. If its more what you are looking for I also have a Walther PPK/s it is about salad plate accurate with blowback but its a riot to shoot! Umarex also makes a 1911 as well as other models. KWC as well.

Umarex Glock 17 Gen4 is a very good replica of G17 gen4, you need to look really hard to see if it's 9mm or BB. If you ordered glock 17 , this one might be a good for training. KWC 1911 is also good replica of 1911, if you have it in .22 recoil from BB 1911 might be closer to your 1911.

I take Beeman p-17 in backcountry, for $60 I think it's the best plinking airgun for outdoors. It's accurate, reliable and for that price you won't be terribly upset if you dropped it in mud or lost it.
 
Thanks for the tips. I ended up getting a Glock 17 gen 3 from Cabelas on sale. It seems to be a solid piece. Have not had time to try it out but will soon.

Also as a side note i had an old Crosman 760-d rifle that I dug out of the closet. I only shot pellets with it but i=on renewed interest i googled a couple utube vids and saw that it has a rather large BB reservoir and that the BBs actually have a faster shot so going to go and renew my interest with that.

I live in town and I am sure there would be a phone call or 2 if i started shooting in the back yard so will prob take them to the range when i go and try them out there. They may be legal to shoot but i surely do not want to have the police here talking and wanting to look at my guns and becoming known as someone who is the least bit risky in todays political climate. .

The very best value in an air pistol is the Tau Brno if you can find one. I have one and will never sell it.

Yup...and I would even say that leaving it to the government's discretion to determine resemblance gives them wide berth to interpret anything to resemble a firearm, even a completely old fashioned translucent airsoft gun with a big orange tip, or any cap gun (if they are even still being sold).
