With the Valmet this is user adjustable. You can move the barrels side to side and up and down to make sure they shoot to the same POI or, in the case of a shotgun over rifle barrel, make sure your iron sight for the rifled barrel is accurate. Mine also comes with a quick detachable scope mount for longer shots. However, I believe these combination guns are really meant for hunting in wooded areas where a scope is not always necessary as the shots are never far.
 
I have both the 223/12g and a 22mag/20g in a Baikal. Love the guns and both are nice shooters. Unfortunately, I don't seem to use the 223 much since the 22mag is enough for what I use it for, so I might be selling it. I don't hunt coyotes very often, mostly smaller game. Both shotguns are well regulated to the rifle barrels and they can be adjusted if needed.
 
I to have a CZ in 7x57 A.I. over 12ga 23/4 and love it most balanced firearm I have ever held, shoots great and packs like a dream. always looking for another one it took me 1.5 years to find this one.
 
I would seriously look at some of the quality brands like Heym, Merkel, etc if looking at a combination gun. I would even consider a Drilling if you are looking for one gun to do it all.
 
The new Brno model 802. A bit pricey at around $1800-1900, but well made and exceptionally accurate. Once you start spending more, you're getting into fancy grades of wood and metal engraving... neither very desireable in a working gun IMHO, but if you have the coin, go for it. The German and French brands are gorgeous.

I have an M6 Scout in 22 hornet/410. I really like it for snowmobile/quad/trail groomer carry because it is very compact and nice and light. I wish it was available in something like say 243/12 or maybe even 243/20 would do.
Someone recently gave me a tip on a Baikal 223/12, price was $850. plus shipping.
