Any recommendation on rings/mount for Remington 700 and Savage 10FP in 308 WIN?

i came across these 2 brands but i don't know anything about them:
- Wideview rings/base. aluminium. low price.
- Warne rings/base. steel.

also, i don't like the Leupold 1-piece mount that adopts the wintage-like screws in the rear ring.

i am looking for rings/mount in the neighborhood of 60-80. is it a realistic price for a decent product?

Thanks!

Look into the Burris Zee rings, they are actually a great deal. The inserts will allow for perfect alignment, doesn't damage the scope or you could use inserts to shim for more MOA if you're shooting long range.

Mysticplayer carries these for ~$45.

I like EGW bases and Burris Xtreme Tactical Rings. They are great value. They are not steel like Warne or Badger, NF. But they are great for they money. If you were going with top end optics, I would go all out and get badger or NF. No point of going cheap then.

You could also look at Ken Farrel rings and Mounts. They are steel and 1/2 the price of Badger or NF. I had them in the past and my only concern was the base sat a little high. The quality was still top notch.

I have used Near mfg bases real nice $200, Ken Farell bases nice $180, Leupold mark4 rings $185. I do believe you get what you pay for in bases and rings.I also have a couple rigs with standard leupold base and rings and have had no issues with them.

Made in Camrose, Alberta

Buy Canadian - no import / export hassles...

The yanks love em and buy up all the supply so we never hear much of em up here.

The webpage and ordering form are s**t - but that is typical ... CDN's spend zero $ on publicity while Yanks spend thousands on adverts for s**t.

The product is fantastic - don't get a base and rings though!

Get a Base and Alpha mount.

Not sure why others haven't caught onto this but it makes all alignment issues, recoil issues and other 'bugs' go away.

Superb quality and innovative.

Will be purchasing my third set in a few weeks....

PM Mysticplayer. He sells that stuff.

I just got a Savage 10FCP and ordered a Farrel 20 MOA Base and a set or 30mm Burris Z-Rings from him.

Can't wait til they arrive :D

For just a few bucks more -

You get a single one piece scope mount, with dual clamps in front and a single in the rear... machined to fit the base (same tolerances)

All steel construction - 4 screws per ring, 3 rings total. Stress relieved then machined, incredible tolerances and as it's a one piece unit no lapping required.

The clamping is so precise (as he builds both parts, base and alpha mount) that you don't need to re-zero.

You will also never have any scope movement or any alignment issues.

Not cheap but damn good quality.

Bases for common rifles - 175
Alpha mounts - 295

TPS makes a nice reliable product

Agree about TPS, outstanding quality for the price. I have two rifles with Near 25 moa bases and TPS rings. A note on NF rings. I had a new set that wouldn't fit a NF scope and one ring had no finish on the clamp portion and was severly pitted. Poor qc on NF's part. I hve a NF scope and love it but will not buy their rings again.

are you using it for carrying around hunting/shooting or just shooting off the bench?
here's what the folks at snipercentral.com have to say.
"Many shooters believe that they need tactical rings and bases when in fact they spend 95% of their shooting time shooting from a bench at the local shooting range. In reality, a typical cheap aluminum scope ring would serve them just fine in these conditions. Now, do not get me wrong, the high quality (and expensive) rings and bases like Leupold Mark4, Badger Ordnance, US optics, TPS, Warne and others are fantastic and are far more durable and grip the scope more solid than an average hunting ring... but are certainly overkill for most rifles, even tactical rifles."

they then recommend the burris signature rings.
i don't know a whole lot about rings/bases but if i wasn't shooting i high recoil rifle i wouldn't be spending hundreds on rings/bases.

i think your $60-80 limit is perfect for weaver steel bases and burris signature zee rings. and if you have the extra money to blow put it towards a good barrel or scope.

I've got a Farrell rail with Nightforce rings on my LE2B and a Nightforce rail with Nightforce LW rings on my M70.

Farrell was excellent to deal with. I'd buy from him again.
