Recommendations for a Sporting Clays gun for my Fiance

What ammo did she shoot in her dads 12G?
Was it target loads or hunting loads?

1oz 1200fps target load has very minimal recoil. How old was she when she shot 12g? She should try a modern 12g gas semi with a 1oz target load. Fit is important to felt recoil.

A Beretta 391 20 gauge would be a top choice but if you got a reduced length 12 gauge 391 and she shot one ounce loads it will still have very light recoil and there is a lot better selection of loads out there.

Dont let her shoot 12ga, it can turn them off shooting quick.

I own a Winchester SX3 Walnut Field in 20ga. The recoil is certainly manageable using the standard 7/8 oz target loads. There is a compact version, but they got rid of shims and spacers on the wooden stocks. The Browning Silver hunter is the same gun internally as the SX3, just different finish.
