I'm looking To purchase a 7mm-08 With an 18 or 20" barrel. What do you guys all recommend. I know a lot of you will recommend tikka But They Don't have An actual short action and that's a deal breaker for me
Browning Micro Midas if you can find one.

Used Remington model 7 would fit the bill. Very compact but still sports a 20 inch barrel

I would think Jerry at Mystic Precision would be able to help you source a barrel.
I am in the same situation, wanting a compact 7-08. I plan to rebarrel my Model 7 (currently chambered in .243) to this end. Just not sure where look for the new barrel. Please chime in if you have a recommendation or suggestion.
i had hard time with shorter bolt action of the ruger ... maybe a little too tall guy ...
You mean the short LOP, this rifle has the full length Ruger stock... LOP is 13 3/4"... I am 6'4" and it fits just fine.
no i meant the shorter bolt stroke. i had a 308 and a 300rcm with the regular stock where i needed a slip on pas for the lop but again certainly me ...
I'm not getting it... the bolt throw is the same as all M77 Mark II rifles and the stroke is a standard short action, what did you have to modify?

Have a Kimber Adirondack in 7-08. Love shooting that thing. Had it out at the range on Sat after mounting a new scope. Mounted the BDX scope for it. Was shooting the gongs at 200, 300, 400, 500, 600 in minutes after setting it up withe the BDX3000 bino.
If you can find a micro, that. would be a good way to go as well. Had a lefty in 270 swm for a bit.
