Hello all,
My 9 year old son caught a nice 40 inch pike last week. He covered it with a damp towel as per our neighbours instructions and fit it into the freezer, dumping a lot of other tasty items all over the floor. :)

Do any of you have a spot I can trust in the Winnipeg area to work on it? I don't mind paying if it's going to be fantastic work.
Thanks for your help.

I would ask bearkilr.

I've dealt quite a bit with Telesky and they do good work. They've had the same PR person/secretary/paper work handler for decades and she does an outstanding job, something that's perhaps more important with shipping internationally. The bottom line is that it'll be ready in the time frame they tell you. I think they're about the only taxidermist I've dealt with who finishes work on quoted time. Most of the horror stories you hear about taxidermists taking 2-3 years to complete work are true.

A good friend of mine worked at Telesky's for close to 40 years and then owned it for about 10 years before retiring. His brother owns it now. They are reliable and good to deal with. I vote for them but I'm biased.

Ahh, I thought they were still going on Notre Dame; my mistake.

New York Burgers is still going out there (Notre Dame and Weston), if your heart so does desire!:)
I'm not a 100% sure, but I think they were there in Dec '67 when I first invaded the big bad city! ;)

In the '60s Hawkins was on the east side of Main in West Kildonan, but I don't recall which corner. I used to visit quite often, and recall a little black dog had that used to sit in the window. His bottom teeth protruded over his lip which gave him an interesting expression.
