Recommendations of 22lr rifles with extended mags.

Hello Looking at possibly picking up another 22lr as a plinker, but want to find something with larger after market mag. Wondering what you nutz would recommed. I belive the following are avalible with larger mags, but open to more options and thoughts

savage a22,
Remington 597 or
marlin model 60

love my GSG-16

mag holds 22, and the adjustable stock has a place to store 2nd mag. so you are carrying 44 rds without using pockets :)

i bought 2 more mags because its easy to go though lots of ammo.

I have heard mixed reviews on the drum reliability

^that gun is tube-fed, and doesn't use box magazines. You're probably thinking of the Marlin 795 which has factory 10 round mags (9 round half the time) and there are (were?) Promag-brand aftermarket/high capacity mags made for it. Even a couple of drum mags, though I'm not sure I've seen them for sale in Canada.

Remington has been out of business for a while now, all of their guns are discontinued. Same goes for Marlin as they were owned by the same company as Remington. Of the guns that the OP mentioned, the Savage is the only one still in production.

Ruger bought Marlin and they are ramping up production, possiblely by summer. Remington firearms was purchased , they just got their firearms license. Now working on settling with the unions etc

Watching this thread. Trying to decide if I should get the A22 precision or A22 pro varmint that I found $250 cheaper. Or just stick with what I have now.

Yes that is true. It hasn't been mentioned by either company which models they will be producing. I think they will try to fill the US orders first. It will likely be late 2021 or into 2022 before we see any of their product up here.
