I am looking in getting a 9mm pistol for some nice cheap low recoil fun shooting times!

My requirements:
I am left handed
I have no budget
I want very good quality
I really dont want cases flying in my face
I will reload, so i want a tough gun

I honestly dont have much restricted experience, but i do have a lot of shooting experience. There are just so many 9mm options out there, maybe you guys can help narrow it down for me!

Thanks.
Hihi.

S&W M&P pro completely ambi and affordable if you're looking for a nice 45 down the road look at a FNP-45 tactical pricey but completely ambi to

If you want to spend a bit of coin and get a great gun go 1911 all the way. There isn't a better package out there for a higher end gun. I would say go .40 S&W or .45ACP though if your going 1911.

Blackhawk revolver in 9mm, just to toss out something different ;)

9mm in a 1911 leaves me a bit cold. It's neither fish nor fowl. If you have no budget go 45 in a1911

Glock 34? 17L?

I'm LH btw and no pistol has made a habit of tossing brass in my face. A beretta type did once, but it was bad/weak ammo

Go retro and find a restricted Luger ;)

Yes, a 1911 would be nice, but it would need to be made in left had to be appreciated, too much fumbling around with a right handed one, trying to operate slide lock and safety.
Cabot's are are exactly what i want, as they make a lefty, but at $6K that is pushing the "no budget" into cost justification territory.
But i would really have to be set on it to go thru with it.

Blackhawk revolver already on the list, in .357. Sounds cheesy, but a SA revolver is quite fast and natural for a lefty to load.

Nothing cheesy about it - single actions were MADE for us! Mine was bought on the EE used. The 9mm is nice and accurate and the .357 has some nice authority to it. The Blackhawk in 30 carbine, loaded up with ball powder, is utterly obnoxious and fun as hell.

I don't find the righty 1911 a problem. Middle finger mag drops are easier than thumb for me (you can buy a RHS drop in mag release to convert it. Forgot the name but I almost bought one), and even a small slide stop is easy to reach. Only thing that gets awkward is locking the slide back to clear a stoppage - I have to swap hands

I never properly handled a 1911 to be honest (or fired one) just played with it over the glass for a bit, may have to try one out. S&W make a nice one i think, and i agree about the middle finger, it is fairly natural to use it. (Yea i know i just wrote that)

Lol!

Wanstalls had the smith on sale a few weeks back. It was hard to resist.. Nice looking piece.

If I had a better budget I'd go for one of the new colt series 70 remakes, or pick up a 100th anniversary model used. I always loved the finish on a colt and the government/GI pattern just appeals for its simplicity.

..perhaps if I sell a few things...

My Grand Power has ambi safety, mag release and slide release. Having said that I shoot left and I've never had a problem with flying brass from any of my guns.
