Recommendations on a brass tumbler?

Just looking for some recommendations on tumblers.

Looking to do rifle and pistol cases, but I'm not a high volume reloader so I don't know if a smaller tumbler is better at this point or to spend the extra and get a larger one.

Currently, I've been using new brass and reloading or using commercial loads until the point now I have about 500 to 1000 empty cases.308 and the same in 9mm, but still building up my .223 when I shoot or find it.

Any brands have specific features that you found handy that would recommend?

Any extras that you would recommend picking up too, ie screens?

Any insight and comments are appreciated.
 
I have the big Dillion one and it works very well. I ordered it from the Dillion website. I accidently ordered the the small media seperator instead of the large one. If I'm not careful it can get messy. As for the media a 50 Lb bag of walnut shells cost me $25 at the local abrasives shop.

I have a small workshop in the basement, with the tumbler sitting on the concrete floor and the shop door shut a very low/dull rumble can be heard upstairs. It's realy only noticable if you listen for it.
 
I have a Berry tumbler. Get one with a sealed lid, otherwise the dust will get everywhere. I don't change my media, just keep topping it up and add a teaspoon of carwax everytime, works great.

He speaks the truth. I'm waiting for mine to die so I can buy something better. It doesn't seem to want to circulate corn cob very well either, though it works pretty good with crushed walnut shells.
 
I borrowed a Lyman 2500 Pro Magnum tumbler recently and I would definitely not recommend that model, as it is very loud. I'm sure that Detroit Diesel has made quieter 2-stroke engines than that tumbler!

A rotary rock tumbler may be an alternative worth looking at. They should be quieter than a vibratory tumbler and they are designed to run continuously for weeks on end.

I have a Lortone QT-12 on order from canadiantreasureseekers.com. I was going to order a Thumler Model B, but they were out of stock. I eagerly await its arrival so I can try it out.
 
Bought a used Lyman 1200 a few years back. It has been used a great deal and still works without a hitch and is not too loud. IMHO they are a solid piece of equipment and well worth the $40 that it cost me:D
 
Thanks everyone for the reviews.

Am leaning towards a Lyman 1200 as it seems to fit the bill with the volume I'll be doing for a while. And extra thanks for a heads up on passing on the Frankford Arsenal one.
