Recommendations on new longer range hunting rifle

What are you hunting? How long is long range.

When I examine your present calibers my guess is that you will need at least a 300 Win Mag to do what you can do with what you have at longer range. Even a 300 Win Mag may not match what you have. You may have to go 338 Cal.

I'd suggest staying with common calibers, you have a 350 RM, so you know about obtaining ammo or components to the odd ducks.

You have a 350 RM and a 45-70, recoil from a 33 Win Mag won't be any worse than those. My 350 RM in a Rem 700 Classic is no pussycat when it comes to recoil. A Model 7 is even a bit lighter.

Once you click on one of the rifles click on demander une soumission. There you will see the prices and options. Google translate was my friend as my comprehension of French is very limited.

Added a bipod rail for a total of $3395.

Opps, didn't scroll down far enough to see the demander une soumission.

Hunt mostly whitetail. Want to do some long range paper/ steel hunting. Long range on game will likely only be in the 400ish range. Want to punch targets far, goal is 1000+ But that’s gonna take some trigger time I’m sure. I like the idea of something with less recoil for extended time at a bench. I definitely know about sourcing difficult components. I’ve managed to stock up on 350rm and it’s obsolete. 6.5 prc has its own difficulties with it being popular but at least people are making components for it although not anything to find right now. I purchased 5 boxes of 120gr Nosler Etip for now. That gives me 100 rounds and 100 brass afterwards once I can find some projectiles. Also been intrigued by the 6.5 prc for a while.

well I see your from my neighborhood, so I know the type of hunting you are talking about.

My go to for deer is a 25-06, good out to 400. For moose 300WM which is also 400m capable, but a little hard on deer, they end up extra dead :)

but your looking at longer with VLD so picking the 6.5PRC should give you a little more reach, more expensive components.. but who am I to talk I own a 325WSM :)

I'm going to give the 6.5 prc a go .I will be using 156 eol Bergers ,140 accubonds , Barnes lrx 127 depending on what i am hunting .

I must be a sucker for expensive components or I wouldn’t own a 350rm lol. Ya my 350 will be my moose cartridge, it throws a 225 Nosler Partition at 2750 fps. Very effective within 300 yards which is sufficient. My want for long range is more so targets but may as well be able to hunt with it too.

Looks beautiful. Specs?

Started out as Kimber 8400 tactical. Trued and squared the action opened the bolt face from 308,added an IBI 6.5 8 TWIST 21"carbon fiber barrel.Made up a light weight 3 port brake .Fitted it to a Wildcat carbon fiber KS Tac hunter I blanked off the floor plate (adl) and added a negative comb to the stock.Epoxy paint.7 lbs 8 oz as it sits.

I see you made up your mind and with your budget any rifle is in reach or at least almost I would reccomend a 338 win mag or 325 win short mag
