Recommendations on optic for AR15

I prefer aimpoints and have a few of them but have also had good luck with the holodun riding on my m14. Has worked great over the last few years. I would opt for the aimpoint because it can be moved to another rig down the road. Check the ee for a used unit.

Thanks for all of the input. I did some research on all of the optics that were recommended. In the end, I was looking for "low budget", not really because of my budget but rather to use something as a "proof of concept".

I found Wanstall's had the TRS-25 with a high riser (which I think should co-witness with my front sight) for $105. At that price is seems like my downside is minimal, so I pulled the trigger. I think it will suit my initial needs and if I want to upgrade down the road, I won't lose much.

Thanks to all for your advise.

I did the same. Bought a super cheepo Vism reflex site just to see if it was something I liked..and I do! so now I have to spend some serious money. Can't wait!

Optic is transferable, to any of your firearms, so its a good idea to get a quality made, Aimpoint Pro would be a good start,

well...being new to ARs myself, let us know on how well it works and how long it lasts. I personally don't see the need to spend $600-900 on a red dot if your life does not depend on it so i have a Sparx AR and a Holosun which have been working fine so far. I have yet to test the life time warrantee so we will cross that bridge when we get there.
