Recommendatios on a front rest

The Caldwell Rock BR isn't to bad of a rest for the money but ditch the crap bags you get with it and invest in a set of decent bags like Edgewood or Protecktor and fill them with heavy sand. If you want to move up from there for about double the money then a Sinclair competition rest is a very nice rest. Then if money is no object a SEB will fit the bill for about tripple what the the Sinclair will cost.

Thanks.

This one caught my attention for the price...

The one that caught your attention is a light weight version , what you should be looking for is a heavy one. The more weight the more stable it is. I have the Sinclair competition and the Caldwell Rock BR. The Sinclear is 30lbs without the bag and the Caldwell is only 13 lbs without the bag. The Caldwell works fine but my Sinclair is my favorite and sort of makes the Caldwell look like budget rest which of course it accually is.

I don't know who in Canada carries them, but the Bald Eagle rests are, in my opinion, the best value for the money.

I have the cast iron slingshot model (got it for less than $300 Cdn.) and couldn't be happier. I use it with the right-size Protektor front bag in the top and a Protektor rear bag.

Been looking and I would buy one of these if I could find one in Canada for less than 3 bills.

I recommend and use a Sinclair Heavy Varmint front rest, with Protektor bags.

They are always in stock at Brownells.

You will complain that they are too heavy when you lug them around. That is why they work so well.
