Hey M1A/M14/M305 owners, just wondering what parts wear out or break first/fast?

...and what are the best sources, (and best prices) for spares in Canada?

Thanx guys !

I've used Treeline, and just absorbed the cost of exchange and shipping. Nordic Marksmen have some things in stock from time to time as do a few other site sponsors. Cant seem to give away stock Norinco parts, although they always come in handy.

gas pistons...... because the right piston can make all the difference in accuracy (read gus fischer)
gas plug...... because ya never know when one might fall out in the mud/snow..... or wherever.
extractor, detent, spring..... probably the most commonly lost part if the detent fails these parts go into flight.
ejector and spring...... don't often lose the spring but if the extractor goes into flight..... usually the ejector does too.
spindle valve, spring and pin..... probably never need them but good to have spares.
same for the oprod guide pin as the roll pins have been known to collapse after a time.
couldn't hurt to have a few firing pins put away as well.
the rest is ammo ammo ammo....

been searching online. looks like Brownell's is the best selection/price choice if it's going to be south o' the border.
just gotta keep it under $100 do allow parts to be shipped up here. it'd sure be nice to have something like that up here...
