Recommended Optics for my Norc

well a new M305 is being assembled, already have a springfield m1a scope mount , and getting one of the Leapers handguard tri rail mounts( yes i know they wont work in unison ) ,
my dilema is i cannot decide on optics.. my local store is offering me a 512 EOtech and magnifier ( fixed mount ) for $1500 nz .. keeping in mind our m305's cost $800+ and our dollar isnt too different from yours.. is this a good deal ?

your thoughts on EOtechs , my other alternative is a CompM2 ( $650 including mount )
or some form of scope, perhaps a scout scope if anyone knows of a good one
i've used Leapers scopes in the past and they have always worked for me

What is your intended usage? That will largely dictate what sort of optic you should get...

general.. hunting, some target .. and plinking

Any hunting telescope will be fine. Be sure to build up the comb on the stock so you can get a proper cheek weld. Most scopes are 1-2" above the original design's line of sight. Chunks of closed cell sleeping pad foam and 2" tape are the best no-cost first effort.

well because im going the whole hog and having the entire thing milspec coated and camo'd , uncluding the optics , action, bipod and all other attachments .. the average old scope isnt what im wanting to fit.. a nice scope, yeah, but setup also needs to be usable, and mounting it in a forward position means i need either cantilever mounts for the scope, or a massive eye reliefe

my brother inlaw just got the bushnell 3200 2-7x32, its a really nice hunting scope for the price, im quite impressed, nice and compact too.
