Recommended optics/mount P-H 30-06

As the title suggests,I'm looking for any recommendations in regards to what scope/mounts for my Parker-Hale 30-06!

Originally it was my fathers and bought new in Sept 1963 and he had never added a scope,so I'm looking for optics for it? Here is a picture of the advertisement from that time period! Thanks in advance for any an all help that y'all will offer

My Dad had the same rifle with Weaver mounts and rings. I think they were a #45 and #46 bases

Thanks for the reply wolfclan Without getting into to much detail,here is my problem! The Weaver will fit in the front but the rear is wherein the real problem lies

imine is not a safari but my PH 30-06 is now using weaver baces with weaver rings holding a K6. i had te old midland baces but when the midland rings failed i had to change it all up. but yes the spacing on your back bridge is narrower.

i would start by looking into the rear baces used on other mauser actions.

Thanks for the leads! Looks like I have a bit of research ahead of me,but hey that's part of the fun.

Well I managed to get the mounts on The Gunsmith did a fine job in getting things sorted out

These are the mounts that finally worked! Notice the #48 Top Mount Base

The Rear Mount nicely clears the bolt by about 2mm and the set screws had to be ground down so as not interfere with the bolt

Now in order to mount the scope, I'll need to get a swing style safety!

So, would any of the fine members here have any idea of where I can get my hands on one of these
