Recommended SD/HD/Bugout Ammo AND a Carry Case?

Hey Guys,

I did a search, couldn't find what I was looking for so...

What size, and quantity of (each) shells are recommended for HD-SD / bugout / Zombie apocalypse? I have read, but can't remember where, when doing certain SG courses, you must have a certain amount of x, xx, and ### ammo but I am unable to find it.

And...

I am looking for a shotgun case that holds two tacticals...887/870 etc. Are there any recommendations as far as brand, or any site sponsors to look at?

What's your intended application/usage??? Strictly subsistence hunting, straight up defence??? You need to sort that out or you'll be shooting birds with 00Buck & slugs...

I am thinking more along the SHTF and have to bug out type scene...

Shotgun ammo is rather heavy and bulky, you basically only get roughly 10 rounds per lb of weight, compared to 20 rounds per lb of .308, 30 per with 7.62x39 or 40+ rounds with 5.56.

Volume-wise shotshells don't come off any better.

I like shotguns but for those reasons alone they wouldn't be my first choice for SHTF.

Shotgun is great to give to somebody else to cover your 6. Keep the shells on your back.
