Most of these tac carbine courses shoot under 100m. Bring the rifle to a mid range from 100m up to 300m, the AR will owe the 7.62X39 in accuracy and speed.
"Keeping up and outshooting" within 100m is purely the competency of the guy who runs the gun - beyond that, the "operator" behind the trigger cannot defy physics.
