Recovered bullet

Unicorn season has been open for years, but its normally only for 5 point or better. They may as well close it for all the good it does.

That's not true... the pics below are the trophy racks (horns) off of my two 2011 unicorns... both were archery kills in the Northern Ontario Limited Draw Unit. I used a Hoyt bow with 400 grain Carbon arrows tipped with Rocket Ultimate Steel 125 heads.

I helped a fiend skin a bear yesterday, clean shot.About half way done found a bump between the shoulder blades.Under the hide in cist was this bullet.I think it was shot last year as the hind had healed.
The bullet was clean and shiny weighs 101g and is 30 cal.

Gord.

My dad arrowed a bear in Northern Ontario in a area not far from an urban center... when we skinned out the bear we recovered a 30/30 slug and TWO .22 LR slugs that were all completely healed... I also shot a doe about 20 years ago that had a 30/30 slug under the hide... I guess folks should pick their spot and shot a little better... (but sometimes stuff/limbs happen).

So, I am a bit confused. By definition a Unicorn is a one horned animal. How in the world did you get 5 horns from two unicorns? And I am not sure that they were adult but I could be mistaken since there is no reference for size, but since a cubit is 21 inches, they should be at least be 30" or more for an adult. An older Male would have a horn close to 4 feet in length.
The earliest description is from Ctesias who described them as wild asses, fleet of foot, having a horn a cubit and a half in length and colored white, red and black

I don't know how you get 5 horns off of two unicorns either. So what did you get, a bi-horn and a tri-horn, or one uni and one quad? Maybe a quint and a horse?

You did not read my post clearly... the Season for unicorns is 5 Point Minimum... the pics I posted are five horns from each of TWO separate unicorns... both were five points... in other words 10 different horns from two animals... I don't like to brag, but felt I needed to respond to the suggestion that there was no point in having an open unicorn season with a Five Pont minimum. And Ardent, Horny Ducks taste like crap! Sure they are fun to shoot, but if I can't eat it, I won't shoot it.

Aaaaahhhh, I understand now. I should have said that there was no point in haveing a 5 point season Here. That was just a cash grabin fiasco like the season for the brindled 3 toe sloth, and the herd reduction on the sidehill gouger. Like we have any hills. Ya get burnt a few times and you start questioning everything.

You need to move... we still have a thriving season for gouger's... sloth's on the otherhand are pretty much obsolete... I undertand that they moved west???
