I plucked these from under the hide on the offside of a Bull Elk yesterday. I found it neat that all bullets flung at him were recovered and all in various forms.

Personally, if i got that kind of bullet expansion, I would want the bullet to be much wider and heavier to begin with and should offer complete penetration. If a .416" or bigger bullet expands similarly, it will still do a good job, but on the other hand, you got the elk, I assume it didn't suffer, and that what matters most.

I'm surprised the bullets even made it to the bull! C'mon...left handed bolt, who knows how that buggers up the bullet going from a left handed action to a right handed twist and all. Some guys you just can't satisfy! :D

Definatley the results you (we) all look for in the Barnes TSX!!! I have recovered a few and the only one I found with all the pedals sheard off was from a .257 Weatherby that I shot at a buck at approx.325 yards. It looked just like the middle bullet in the pic!!! I use the Barnes TSX's for 90% of my hunting and very sledom find and bullets, regardless of range or animal position!!

The rest (2) have looked like the Barnes pics.... Perfect!!!

A few were recovered from a buddies .378 weatherby (270 TSX) from a moose , and all were textbook, But no passthroughs????

I have found more "lead bullets" than the TSX's but that is expected in my books!!! Found 2 out of 3, 250 grain Swift A-Frames in a cow moose shot with a .338 win mag, at 28 yards!!! These also looked like a text book mushroom (also great bullets)!!!

Great results and congrats on the elk!!!
