I just had a few questions about re-crowning and lapping.

I have a P-14 with some slight cord wear at the muzzle, and it looks like it will need more than a mere lapping to touch up. What is best to use, a 45 or 60 degree cutter? I'd like one with a .311 brass pilot and a hand drill to turn it... does anyone know where these can be found in Canada? I see them on the Brownells page, but if they can be bought elsewhere or for cheaper, I'd like to know.

Pacific Tool and Guage seems to make them cheaper. I just need to get a Canadian source.

Ditto for the brass lapping bits... they sell them at Midway... but they don't ship to Canada.

Has anyone done done this and have some applicable advice?

There are no import/export restrictions on the tools required... I recommend PTG...

60 degree is what you want...

It has has a removable pilot (steel) and works well by hand...
