Recrowning chrome lined barrel on M14S Norinco

Before I rebarrel the Norinco I want to try recrowning it. Can you do this with a chrome lined barrel or will the chrome start to flake? Anyone done this on a Norinco?

There are plenty of people who have had their 22" barrels chrome-lined cut and crowned to make shorty M14s.

Rodney - Am I sensing some frustration with your Norc?

I'd try some different barrel tension adjustments before re-crowning or rebarrelling.

I polished the crown on a 22" Norc with a brass screw, drill and some grinding compound. I don't know how much difference it made, but it came out looking great.
