Took a quick look through this forum and didn't find what I was looking for. Looking to try powder coating.

A lot of people PC'ing bullets, and I assume some are recycling them. When recasting them; any extra step or care neeed? Or just treat as normal, flux and cast away? Decided I would like to confirm before I get into a pickle.

Thanks.

They will smoke a bit when dumped into a melt and I have found that an initial skim with a piece of wood or something disposable because there will be a plastic residue that doesn't remove easily from the "skimming tool" when it cools. Once skimmed & fluxed I haven't had any difficulties casting new boolits.

AS said, when melted the alloy works fine but the coating will be sticky/smoky. I just let it burn off in the pot so it turns to ash and I skim it off before I start casting.
